Yalecrest Yes! Heritage Preservation Committee was a neighborhood activist group dedicated to the pursuit of a local historic district designation for Yalecrest National Register District. Though not successful in 2010, the group has since worked diligently with Salt Lake’s Historic Landmark Commission, Planning Commission and City Council to clarify the LHD process and create a new tool for conserving specific neighborhood characteristics. For more information about the work of Yalecrest Yes!, read the August 2010 position statement. Yalecrest LHD Position Statement 2010
The group’s dedication and enthusiasm for the continuing education about the necessity of preserving historic Yalecrest prompted establishment of a more formal organization—one that is federally and locally recognized as a tax-exempt non-profit corporation to ensure the enjoyment and conservation of the neighborhood’s historic structures for all Salt Lakers, their children, their grand-children. . . thus K.E.E.P. Yalecrest was formed.
