Preserving History

The mission of K.E.E.P. Yalecrest (Keep Educating and Encouraging Preservation of Yalecrest) is to help preserve and protect the Yalecrest neighborhood, designated on the National Register of Historic Places, by providing advocacy, education and recognition of its community, history, landscapes and historic architecture.

We have been actively advocating for the preservation of this special neighborhood for more than a decade now, pursuing local historic district designations. Read more here.

Additionally, we have focus a great deal of attention on education and have held events to inform residents about historic district tax credits, water-wise gardening, deconstruction salvaging, maintenance of historic windows and masonry, Yalecrest architecture, seismic retrofitting, and more!  We look forward to once again holding community events.

Some of our most popular events have been the walking tours we've produced, filled with lots of historic research about many of our homes, subdivisions, parks and other structures, Read more about them here.
